Eric and I are non-traditional and non-religious people, so when it came time to think of where we wanted to get married, a church didn’t come into play. We like being an urban couple, we perhaps wanted a loft. We needed a space that seemed “us,” you know? I loathe and despise generic banquet halls, and especially can’t stand bows tied on the backs of chairs, so that was also out. I was beginning to grow a wee bit desperate, and then like magic Betsy came to the rescue by sending me a link.

Eric, my Mom, and I saw the venue this weekend and it was everything we wanted. It’s colorful and vibrant and not stuffy and Paulette, who showed us around, was a delight. It’s located in West Loop, in the Haymarket Square area, and it’s a friendly area of town for those out of town guests. The space is incredibly versatile, and absolutely in our price range. We’re going to be renting the entire 4th floor, so the ceremony can be in one room, the reception in another, and guests can go immediately from one to the other, and then the ceremony room will be transitioned over so guests can chill in there as well if so inclined.
Giant battle won.
