Tell me that title didn’t grab your attention.
I adore my wedding dress – seriously. I cannot wait to wear it.
However, the first time I tried it on I noticed a feature of it that hadn’t been easily apparent in the pictures I’d seen online.
The fabric on the back is sheer to the waist.
If you add this to the fact that the front of the dress is very low-cut (though absolutely not at all indecent) it becomes a challenge to find a bra that will offer support while not being obvious.
The whole “chicken cutlet” thing makes me roll my eyes, so I’ve been looking around for weeks in the hopes of stumbling across something that would provide coverage and support without being uncomfortable or – perhaps worse – showing.
This weekend, at Macys, I bought something I believe will work.
The “Seamless Backless Strapless Bra” from Style Solutions by Fashion Forward.
Apparently, the inside of the bra is covered in adhesive, which I will – shortly before the wedding – peel off and then (no joke) stick to myself. It’s low cut in front, which is perfect, and is completely backless, which is also perfect.
It all seems perfect, right?
It can be worn for up to six hours, after which my Dad and fiancee (who went with me to Macys to pick it up last weekend) joked that it probably starts smoking and self-destructs.
Or, you know, falls out the bottom of my dress in front of everyone.
Apples, oranges..
Here’s hoping it works, as according to the directions I can’t really do a trial run.
The things I do for bridal fabulosity.

Ooh cool.
Back when I was contemplating dress number 1 (er, dress number 1 that spent considerable time in my closet, that is) I was thinking of doing sticky bra thingies. I was going to buy a couple, just in case I needed to switch them out mid-evening.
Just a thought.
Bra-vo!
(I’ve been waiting for WEEKS to say that!)
However, sticking something to my body to hold up my private bits makes me so glad I’m not a girl.
Definitely original posting! jp
